Specialist Exercise Classes

Our Specialist Exercise classes programme are designed for people who are managing long-term health conditions and want to improve their health and fitness.

Classes are taught by qualified instructors across Huntingdonshire with exercises able to be adapted for individuals if necessary. The sessions are a great way to socialise in an environment with others who may be having similar experiences.

Cancer & Exercise

For adults living with and beyond cancer. The classes are in partnership with the Hunts Community Cancer Network with sessions designed to be adaptable for all individuals, enjoyable and a great social environment. 

Instructors are qualified in Cancer Rehabilitation and Exercise.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

The classes are designed for people who had had a heart incident and want to improve their health and fitness.

Classes are taught by qualified British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) instructors and we work closely with Papworth Hospital.

Pulmonary Maintenance

The classes are designed for people who live with pulmonary conditions such as COPD. The sessions focus on tailored physical exercise to help manage symptoms of breathlessness and enhance the body's ability to use oxygen effectively. 

Classes are taught by qualified instructors who will motivate you to keep active and socialise.

ESCAPE Pain

Enabling Self-management and Coping with Arthritic Pain through Exercise is a nationally recognised rehabilitation programme for individuals with osteoarthritis and/or chronic joint pain. 

The programme aims to increase physical function and improve quality of life for those with back, hip or knee osteoarthritis. ESCAPE is delivered as a course, with a one-hour session held twice a week for five weeks. The sessions involves an educational discussion on self-management strategies followed by prescribed resistance exercises. 

Classes are taught by qualified instructors and both health professional and self-referrals can be made.

Booking

Book and Pay Online

Specialist Exercise classes are included in the One Diamond and One Platinum memberships. Pay as you go classes are £4.70 or you can purchase a RightStart Class pass for £42. The class bundle is valid for a period of 12 months.

Make a booking

We advise you to pre-book classes, before attending the venue. You can book up to 7 days in advance by calling One Leisure Direct on 01480 388111, online or via the One Leisure app.

Please note that our classes in the community can only currently be booked via the app or by phoning One Leisure Direct and not via the

One Leisure website. 

We may not be able to accommodate you without a prior booking. However, community class instructors do have card payment machines if you choose to turn up without a prior booking.
