Outdoor Gym Programme
Our programme is designed to help residents of all ages and abilities make the most of local outdoor fitness equipment. Whether you are new to exercise or looking to build on your existing routine, this structured guide provides a simple and effective way to stay active in the open air.
The programme is split into three levels - Start, Improve and Challenge, allowing you to progress at your own pace. Each level offers clear guidance on duration, intensity and rest, helping you build confidence, improve fitness and develop long-term healthy habits.
A short warm-up prepares your body for activity, followed by a flexible main workout that can be completed in any order using the equipment available in your park. Sessions include a mix of cardiovascular, strength and balance exercises to support overall wellbeing. A short cooldown helps reduce muscle soreness and aids recovery.
Please remember to stay hydrated, exercise at a level that feels right for you and most importantly enjoy being active outdoors.
We have informational guides available to access on warm ups, cool downs and equipment as well as a range of programme ideas to try.
