Aquapark at Hinchingbrooke – Participant Waiver

Huntingdonshire District Council - Hinchingbrooke Country Park is committed to the safety and welfare of all participants. Please read this statement and indemnity waiver carefully, as it outlines our expectations and your responsibilities when taking part in water‑based activities at the Aquapark.

All participants must attend the on‑site safety and instruction briefing before entering the water.

You should be in good general health and free from any medical condition that may be aggravated by vigorous physical activity.

All sessions must be pre‑booked using our online booking system.

Natural Environment Notice

The lake is a natural environment and contains natural and man‑made hazards, including but not limited to:

• Exposed tree roots 
• Uneven ground and potholes
• Limited lighting • Slippery Lake banks
• Sharp stones underfoot
• Buoys, ropes, and other equipment in the water

If you are not comfortable with these conditions, you should not participate in water‑based activities at this site.

Aquapark Rules

  • Safety Rules must be read, understood, and the online indemnity form signed before participation.
  • The Aquapark is a physically demanding activity. Slips, falls, and impacts are expected.
  • Minimum age: 6 years (with parental consent).
  • Ages 6–8 must be accompanied on the Aquapark by a responsible adult (18+). One adult may supervise two children.
  • Ages 9–15 require an adult to remain on site. One adult may supervise eight children.
  • An adult (18+) must complete and sign the waiver for any participant under 18.
  • Please arrive 25 minutes before your session with your confirmation email. Sessions include 50 minutes on the Aquapark.
  • No refunds are available for booked sessions.
  • Participants must be able to swim 25 metres unaided.
  • Bring a towel and swimwear.
  • Wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and helmets are mandatory and included in the admission price.
  • Aqua socks are optional and available to purchase for £3.
  • Lifeguard cover is provided for all sessions.
  • Enter and exit the water only at designated points.
  • Do not swim outside the designated Aquapark area.
  • If you experience difficulty, roll onto your back and raise an arm to signal a lifeguard.
  • Sessions may be ended early due to thunderstorms, poor visibility, fog, or high winds. If instructed to leave the water, you must do so immediately.
  • Wildlife must not be approached. Swans may act defensively around nests or young.
  • Be aware of the possibility of swimmer’s itch, which can occur in natural lakes. Water quality is tested regularly.

Participant Acknowledgement

By signing this waiver, you confirm that:

  • You are the participant, or the legal parent/guardian of a participant under 18.
  • You understand that water‑based activities carry inherent risks, including cuts, grazes, sprains, fractures, and drowning.
  • You will report any accidents or injuries to staff immediately.
  • You will wear all provided safety equipment and will not tamper with or remove it.
  • You will remove jewellery where possible.
  • You will follow all instructions given by Hinchingbrooke Country Park staff. Failure to comply may result in removal from the activity without refund.
  • You will not participate under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • You do not have any medical condition that may affect your ability to safely participate.
  • Valuables are left at your own risk.
  • You have read and understood all safety requirements, rules, entry conditions, and restrictions.
  • Risk assessments are available on request.

Waiver Disclaimer

You agree to take responsibility for your own health, wellbeing, and property, and that of any minors you are supervising.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huntingdonshire District Council -  Hinchingbrooke Country Park accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, including consequential or exemplary damages, arising from the use of the Aquapark.

By submitting this form, you confirm that you are over 18, competent to provide this waiver, and that you fully understand and agree to its terms and conditions.
